I started in the Bicycle Industry in 1973 and since then have owned a bike shop, been a rep, sales manager, vp's of marketing, purchasing, sales, was president of Sachs, and even had the opportunity of working with Lee Iacocca on his start up e-bike venture. I moved to San Luis Obispo, on the Central Coast of California while I was president of Sachs, SRAM bought Sachs and I was out of a job but I decided it was time to start my own business so that I could stay in this area. The view on top of the page is from my back yard. This area has some of the best cycling in the world and is great for almost any outdoor sport. I was lucky enough to hook up with SaddleCo during their start up and am president and COO of SaddleCo, in addition, I started Neuvation Cycling™ to make high quality wheels and skewers in Taiwan. I also stay busy developing products for some other well known bicycle industry companies. JNC (The John Neugent Company) is also a distributor of SaddleCo and Neuvation Cycling™ products selling to authorized bicycle dealers. The focus of both SaddleCo and Neuvation Cycling™ is in bringing value to the consumer. WIth SaddleCo the value is in having truly the most comfortable saddle in the world. With Neuvation Cycling™ the value is in the price of truly quality products. In both companies the overhead is kept to an absolute minimum. Because of today's computer technology and the Internet it is possible to run truly virtual companies that perform most of the key functions with only a small percentage of the overhead of a decade past. For Neuvation Cycling™, I do all of the sales, marketing, product management, ads layouts, photography, web site design (although I am not that good at this one yet), sales brochures, event coordination, order processing, and customer service by myself. As I grow I will add staff but the key is that the company functions well without the need for a staff to do all of these necessary functions.
