President, Sachs Bicycle Components

I was the first employee of Sachs Bicycle Components.   Over a period of 10 years, we established a strong brand and dominated the aftermarket bicycle chain business in the US.  We were well on our way to entering the complete drive train market when our parent company sold us to Sram.

Marketing consultant, Lee Iacocca, EV Global Motors

I was tapped by Mr. Iacocca to help him launch his fledgling electric bicycle business.  I was largely responsible for marketing and the establishment of sales into the bicycle dealer channel. Needless to say, it was an incredible honor and pleasure to work with a true business icon.

VP Marketing, Service Cycle

I was named the companies first VP of Marketing after having been a product manager and regional sales manager. I was largely responsible for the coordination with our Mongoose bicycle division.

VP Purchasing, Bike Rack

Stolen form Service Cycle for a short period of time, I set up with first imported parts program and was responsible for all aspects of importing and warehousing.  I also set up their first computerized inventory system.

VP Sales and Marketing, Trico Sports

I worked largely with their extensive rep force, helped them develop new products, and managed their marketing.

Product Manager, Service Cycle

I was named the companies first product manager in 1982.  In fact, as I recall, I was probably one of the first people in the Bicycle Industry with the title of product manager. When I started we were a small, regional distributor.  At the end of my tenure, we had risen to major national distributor and along with our mass market sister company, Cycle Products, were by far the largest aftermarket products company in the industry.  It was during this time that I began my extensive travels to Asia and was one of the first in the industry to do so.

Regional Sales Manager, Service Cycle

When I started, the territory was second from the bottom.  When I was promoted the companies first product manager, it was second from the top.

Owner, Sunshine Cycle

I became a partner in Sunshine Cycle about a year after it's start and was largely responsible for all of the "back side" operations including business management, assemblies and repairs.  We were profitable from day one and even weathered the terrible downturn of 1974-76 despite having just started our business.  Needless to say, we didn't eat much.
